Finals

Top 12 advance to finals

The highest scoring bands advance regardless of classification. Finals awards run down the placings, plus the highest achievement in each caption. The champion receives the Champion Flag and may take the field for a victory performance.

The Lone Star Preview Championship Finalist performance schedule will be finalized based on a pre-draw conducted at the Band Check-in process prior to Preliminary Performances. The top 6 scoring Bands from Prelims will be assigned the last 6 Performance times in numerical order according to the pre-draw. The next 6 will be assigned the first 6 Performance times in numerical order according to the pre-draw. In the event of a 12th place tie, the draw will be adjusted to top 6, second 7 (or similar, according to the number of finalists). Overall preliminary scores are not announced until finals have concluded.

A judges’ critique is available after finals awards on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where Your Band Sits

Performing bands are strongly encouraged to watch from the visitor side stands. Visitor side seating is open and exclusive for all performing bands. If you choose to watch a performance from the home side stands, bands must sit as a group and must be accompanied by chaperones and may ONLY be sitting in the endzone sections: Section 100 or Section 500. If your band is not complying, you will be asked to move or return to the visitor side stands. Home side stand seating prioritiy is for paying spectators supporting all bands at Lone Star Preview.

Performing bands, chaperones, and staff are encouraged to watch from the visitor side stands.

Please use the visitor side

Bands are strongly encouraged to use the visitor side concessions and merchandise tables rather than the home side ones.

Conroe ISD allows performing groups to carry food and drinks into their own assigned seating area, but only on the initial entry as a group. Individuals cannot bring outside food or drink in later or carry student water bottles through the main entry gates.
